Stephen Robert Rambo

Stephen “Steve” Robert Rambo, 54, of Orange Park, FL was called away, on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Steve was born on July 15, 1960, in Logansport, IN. With the love and support of Beverly Rambo, Steve graduated from Valhalla High School (1978) in El Cajon, CA. After high school, Steve spent a great deal of his life living in Jupiter, FL, where he met and married his wife of 24 years, Patricia L. (Rich) Rambo. Steve leaves behind his wife, Patricia, and his only child, Jonathan W. Rambo (15). Steve worked for many years as a bonded courier for Florida Power and Light Company, where he was an integral part of confidential communications between two of their south Florida Nuclear Power Plants. Steve held various positions with Home Depot, Ford Dealerships and the Norfolk Southern Railroad while residing in both Georgia and Florida. No job was more important to Steve than the one he held the longest, and was the most prideful of, and that was as loving “Husband and Father” to Patti and Jon. Steve enjoyed all aspects of being outdoors and on the water. He found great pleasure in camping with the Boy Scouts, boating, water skiing and tubing, deep sea fishing and scuba diving, and most of all a relaxing afternoon on his boat, or the sand bar, with his beloved dogs, family, friends, and of course music, food and drink. Steve will be dearly missed by his wife, Patti; son, Jon; mother, Susanne Swearingen; devoted sisters, Deborah (Herb) Biggs, and Lori (Ruck) Walsh; nieces, Amber (Mark) Quinn, Cara Biggs, Chrystine Biggs, and Caitlin Walsh; nephew, Blake Walsh, and great-niece, Molly Quinn. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2014, in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The “Jonathan Walter Rambo Educational Trust” has been established at Stephen’s request for those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Stephen’s honor.
