Just heard of She's death this past Friday! My heath felt sympathy to her love one's!

Like Woody, I was lucky to have Sue as my early mentor in the  Humanities Dept. (FJC then) & later as a colleague. Even better, I became her friend.  She was always there for me, especially when I first began teaching. I will miss her. My thoughts are with you, Gerry, and her family.

My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this time of your loss and our family loss.

I was so sorry to hear of Sue's passing.  I'm glad that she was able to join us at our breakfast several months ago.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficulty time.

Dearest Sue, I will miss you and promise to keep in touch with Jerry.  Rest in Peace and look up Lucy, Joanne and my husband-they will take care of you!!!!

Sue was a wonderful colleague and friend.  She had great courage that inspired us all. My heartfelt sympathy goes to you, Jerry, and to her family.  She will be sorely missed.

Sue was instrumental in deepening my love for literature as my first American lit professor at, then, Florida Junior College. She was a gentle mentor at a time in my life when I was trying understand what the great classic and contemporary American writers were saying...and struggling to learn to write creatively myself. Sue was so patient with and supportive of my truly juvenile efforts. Because of her support, I have continued to write (happily)for nearly a half century as a result.
 
Incredibly, I eventually finished my masters degree and thereafter became Sue's colleague at FCCJ, my office being directly across from hers at South Campus. The irony was delicious. Oh, the conversations (especially about the children we held dear!) and debates (political, literary, educational...any topic was fair game) we had almost every day for well of a decade...so spirited...so joyful!

I always was an early arrival at campus, but Sue invariably was in her office preparing for class or grading when I reached my office. So, she was  my first "good morning" person on campus. I missed that when she retired. I missed her for a lot of reasons when she retired.

Sue was my teacher, my mentor, my colleague...my friend.

I am and will be eternally grateful to Sue.

Just heard from my Englewood friends that Sue passed away.  Surely you know how interesting and delightful she was to all she met.  Thinking of you tonight.

Psalm 90:10 tells us: "In themselves the days of our years are seventy years; And if because of special mightiness they are eighty years".....
May your hearts be filled with loving memories of "happy" times together, as you celebrate a life well-lived!!!

I feel so fortunate that I got to know Sue many years ago, back in high school, and that our friendship has been renewed and deepened in recent years.  She was a woman of true courage and honesty.  I will miss her greatly.  Many condolences to you, Jerry, to her dear nieces, and to all her family.

The world will be a poorer place without her...my thoughts and sympathy go especially to you, Gerry, but also to her many friends and to her family, as well.

Sue will be missed greatly.  Friends, from our high school days, Sue was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have had the privilege to know.  She was a wonderful book buddy, and her strength in the past years is inspirational. My condolences to Jerry and her family.

As a professor at then FCCJ, Sue Pine contributed much to the betterment of English education at the College and in Florida. Our heartfelt condolences to Jerry and the rest of Sue's Family.
