Susan M. Butler

Susan M. Butler, 76, went to join her Lord on August 24, 2013. She was a pillar of the community and touched many lives in North Jacksonville. She was loved and will be missed by her family as well as her church family and friends.

Susan lived a wonderful life with her husband Richard for 50 years. They both loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, their children and spouses Karen (Steve) Holmes, Keith (Tina) Butler and granddaughter Kaitlyn Butler.

Susan dedicated her life to children as a life-long educator in the Duval County Schools. After retirement, she became a volunteer at Wolfson Children's Hospital where she continued to touch of the hearts of everyone she encountered. She was also very active in the choir and senior groups at church. To know her was to love her - she loved freely and touched lives in a positive way.

Celebration services for Susan will be held at North Jacksonville Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 28th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Wolfsons Hospital in Susan's name.
