

Tanja Maria Armstrong, 59, died May 31st 2017 in Kindred Hospital of North Florida Green Cove, FL. A skilled artist, in her own right, Tanja’s impressionist painting style was both bold and unique. She pursued education beyond her Bachelors in Fine Arts and acquired a Master’s degree in Education. As a retired teacher of The Metro Nashville School System, Tanja was especially passionate about her students and their success. Friends and family were always extremely important and she leaves behind so many whose lives she touched with her generous smile, infectious laugh and wit. Tanja is predeceased by her parents Samuel & Dorothy (Sharber) Armstrong, a sister, Bonita and brothers Lawrence, Ovis and Ronald. She is survived by her siblings Sondra (Armstrong) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth (& Kathy) Armstrong of Meriden, CT, Sharon (&Greg) Carter of Charlotte, NC, Samuel (&Carol) Armstrong of Mankato, MN, and Stephen (&Lucretia) Armstrong of Canton, GA. Also many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
