

Theresa C (Cattar) Mullaney, age 89, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23rd, 2024, at her Jacksonville home. She was surrounded by family who never left her side in the days leading up to her passing. Theresa was born in Jacksonville, Fl on December 14, 1934. She attended Saint Joseph’s High School where she first met and later married her husband, Lawrence Mullaney.
Theresa grew up with a deep appreciation for her family, friends and faith. She loved the beach, sewing, playing cards with friends and family and raising her children in the Catholic faith. Over the years she worked for the Bellsouth company, The Children’s Home Society and Hartford insurance when she was not busy homemaking for her family. Her home was a favorite hangout for her children’s classmates and neighbors because of the welcoming environment Theresa created and nurtured.
Theresa loved and worshipped God. Her daily routine included praying the Rosary and time spent on Daily Prayers. She dedicated numerous hours of service as a member of Saint Anne’s circle, a Eucharistic minister, and years of Eucharist Adoration service. She loved her church community and the many friends she met and spent time with. Her love for family was strong and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Rose (Rizk) Cattar and George Cattar as well as her brother David Cattar.
Theresa is survived by her devoted husband Lawrence (Larry) of 69 years. In addition, she is survived by her loving children Janet Mullaney, Susan Mullaney, Patricia Mullaney, and Michael Mullaney (Kelly Mullaney). She is also Survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, along with numerous extended family members that will cherish her memory.
Visitation and prayers for Theresa will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home 940 Cesery Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32211, on Monday October 7th, 2024, at 5pm followed by a Funeral Mass at Resurrection Catholic Church 3383 University Boulevard in Jacksonville on Tuesday October 8th at 10am. The immediate family will attend a private burial at the Jacksonville National Cemetery following her Funeral Mass. The arrangements are under the care and direction of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home.
