Thomas R. Hughes

HUGHES – Thomas R. Hughes, 75, of Jacksonville, FL (formerly of Long Island, NY), passed on June 9, 2010. Thomas was born August 26, 1934 to the late Alice Hughes Skinner and Joseph P. Hughes. Beloved husband of Josephine (LaCorte), devoted father of Joanne Beatty, Richard Hughes, and Brian Hughes (Gina). Tom is also survived by his grandchildren, Craig Perotti, the late Devin Beatty, Brandon Beatty and Alycia Hughes as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Vincent and Mya. Thomas was a retired Material Manager for Northrop Grumman and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War. Visitation will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at HARDAGE GIDDENS MANDARIN CHAPEL, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Historic Church, 4214 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257 with Father Daniel Cody as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to Heartland Hospice, 8130 Baymeadows Way, Suite 201, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
