

Tom graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina in 1954 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He Served for two years in the United States Army at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. Tom married his sweetheart on August 20, 1955. After the Army, he began working for the L&N Railroad in Mobile, Alabama. After 30 years of Railroad service through several positions and four different states, Tom retired from CSX in Jacksonville, FL.
Tom was a member of Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church for 39 years. He faithfully served as an Usher, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Missionary, Volunteer with the Clothes Closet, Hurricane Andrew Relief Team, Wednesday Gang – HabiJax, and Wednesday Night Suppers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Rosamond, and his brother Robert (Bob) Rosamond. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Muriel Imogene (Gene) Rosamond. His two children, Denise Sutton and husband Allen of Corydon, KY, Tom Rosamond and wife Beth of Dunnellon, FL. His four grandchildren Natalie Hankins (Jarrod) of Corydon, KY, Amanda Sutton of Henderson, KY, Ariana Rosamond of Dunnellon, FL, and Nathan Rosamond of Dunnellon, FL. His two great grandchildren, Reese Hankins (10) and Asher Hankins (4) of Corydon, KY.
Relatives and Friends are invited to Tom’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, April 13th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Oaklawn Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 1:00 PM at Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 11:30 AM prior to the funeral service. The service will be officiated by the Reverend B.J. Hutto, Ph.D. and the Reverend Don Arneson. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
