Thomas R. Ross

Thomas Redmond Ross, Jr., 64, died on June 4, 2012 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. A twenty-year Air Force career officer, Tom became a high school English teacher after retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He loved his family, his friends and his church. He is survived by his wife, Linda; mother, Martha Douglas Ross; children Megan Hawkins (Jeff), Thomas Ross, III (Karla) and Christy Bland (John); three granddaughters, three grandsons, one great grandson; brother Douglas Ross (Mary); sister Martha Lindsey Cooke and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 11:00 AM at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 1100 Stockton St, Jacksonville. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Sterling, KY. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd or to City Rescue Mission of Jacksonville.
