T. R. (Bob) Watkins, age 89, passed peacefully on July 27, 2017 from heart failure. He was a native from Jacksonville, Florida and worked most of his life at the family business, Lloyd A Gray Company. He was an amazing athlete and loved sports. Being with his children made him happiest. The Isle of Palms where he spent childhood summers, stayed in his heart, and continued going with his family.
Survivors include Tom, Jackie, John and Bill Watkins; and five grandchildren, Miles, Brad, Victoria, Katie and Heather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ethel; and his wife, Marguerite.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 1 at 10:30am at the Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 with burial to follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Community Hospice of North East Florida.
