Valoie Joan Williams

Joan Bennett Williams returned to her Heavenly Father and loving husband, Lorin Ventom Williams, on the 9th of February 2021. She is survived by her 7 children: Kelly Lorin (Connie), Scott Reese (Sally), Kendall Ross (Beth), Lorie Lucinda Armstrong, Kurtis Bennett (Rachel), Sharra Noel Dains (Deitmar), Justin Ellery (Sheri). Their youngest, Kumen Jared, preceded his mother and father in death. Their posterity includes 25 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and two on the way. Joan was born in Evanston, WY on the 22nd of March 1935 to William Henry Bennett and Vida Jane Padgett. She married her childhood sweetheart, Lorin Williams, on the 10th of October 1952. Lorin and Joan moved to Jacksonville in September 1958. They were both well known in our community as owners of Bennett’s Beach Motel which was located at the intersection of A1A and Atlantic Blvd. Sister Williams was a faithful lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous leadership positions. Her children consider it an honor and a privilege to call her mom. There will be a viewing on Saturday, February 13th from 9:30 to 10:45 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 7665 Ft. Caroline Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32277 under the direction of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at the same location at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Arlington Park Cemetery following the services.
