Val was born on December 30, 1958 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the oldest of three children. She is survived by her brother Bobby Padgett, her sister Beverly Ledford, her niece Monica Fuentes, her nephew Mathew Padgett and her four great-nieces and nephews: Chloe, Claire, Corbin and Malakai. She also leaves behind a host of cherished friends.
After serving in the Army, Val spent her life in Jacksonville, Florida. She was loved dearly by many members of the community. Those who were lucky enough to know Val knew she always wore a smile. She was a lover of all sports, but to say she was a Gator fan is an understatement. She will be missed by so many.
Memorial services will be performed at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Funeral Home located on 4801 San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville, FL 32207 on Sunday October 18, 2020 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
