

Victor Anthony Monfort, 55, passed away unexpectedly from a massive heart attack on August, 11, 2014. He was born August 12, 1958, in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated with his family to Miami, FL, in 1961. He was predeceased by his parents, Victor Manuel and Lydia Serafina Monfort. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Thompson Monfort, and their five children, Katie, Anne Marie, Madeleine, Victor, and Anthony; his sister Anne (Greg) Ramon of Tampa, his sister Nellie (Bill) Brothers of Miami, and numerous, beloved sister- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and special parents-in-law, Ken and Katharine Thompson of Brunswick, GA, as well as further, dear extended family. Victor was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, a past member of the Men’s Club, and a member of CRHP team #9. A USF graduate with an electrical engineering degree, he spent his entire career at JEA, beginning in August of 1982, and currently was Director of Customer Field & Meter Services. He and Mary met at a Catholic singles group in 1983, and they married in February, 1985. He was a devoted family man who adored his wife. He doted on his children and through the years spent much time with them in the Indian Princess/Guide programs. Along with his family, he was active in Yesha Ministries Taekwondo and held a 2nd dan black belt. A loving husband, father, and friend, he truly will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph Catholic School, or Yesha Ministries.
