
Vince was born on January 5th, 1939, to Lewis John Purcell and Mary Johnston Purcell in Jersey City, New Jersey. After graduating from Saint Cecilia High School in 1957 he went on to study at Farleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Vince was a long-time member of William’s YMCA and enjoyed playing basketball well into his seventies. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #42 in Mandarin and a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Vince was predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Mary Purcell, his brother Larry Purcell, his daughter Regina Greene, and granddaughter Kelsey Marie Greene. Vince is survived by his sister Regina Solomon, son Ken Purcell (Kim), daughter Denise Press (Larry), daughter Laura Cerro (Jeff), son in law Michael Greene (Tracy), nephews, Tim Purcell (Carol) and David Solomon (Stacy) and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life for Vincent will be held Friday, June 6, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. A committal service will occur Friday, June 6, 2025 at Hardage - Giddens Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
