

Virginia Lindley, age 93 of St. Johns, Florida died on October 21st, 2024 at Baptist South Hospital. She was born on May 21st, 1931 in Bono, Arkansas to her parents, Roy and Beatrice Forrester. She graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1949 and was married to William W. “Chuck” Lindley on July 31st, 1949.
Virginia traveled in numerous states as a United Methodist Children’s Educator. In 2001, she traveled to New York City with the American Red Cross to use her skills to administer comfort care and play therapy to children of the September 11th Twin Towers victims. She also traveled with the Red Cross to several Hurricane disasters.
Virginia was a member of Mandarin United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. She was a person of life-long faith and service and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved God, her husband, family, and friends.
Virginia was an ardent Bridge player and attained the level of Life Master. She loved football with the Arkansas Razorbacks, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Florida Gators. She also followed and supported Tim Tebow and his foundation.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, her daughter Brenda Bush, and her sister Ruth Hellen Grigsby (Jake). She is survived by her daughter Kathy Korbel, son-in-law Jim Korbel, Grandchildren Emily Hashtak, Todd Gilmer (Cathrina), Great Grandchildren John Elijah Hashtak, Emma Kate Hashtak, Niece and Nephews Jonelle Grigsby, Rusty Grigsby, and Jared Grigsby (Amy).
