

William “Bill” Warren Kerlin, 94, passed away on September 6, 2018 after a brief illness in Jacksonville. He was born on April 2, 1924 to Thomas and Estelle Kerlin in Fayetteville, Georgia. He was the youngest of 10 children. He lived most of his life in Jacksonville.
Bill was a proud veteran. He joined the US Navy at the start of World War II. He met Helon on a USO event in Texas. They were married in 1945 and had a happy 47 years together until her death in 1992. He then met and married Edith. They were married for 19 years until her death in 2012.
He attended college in Ohio and studied mortuary science. He became a licensed funeral director and eventually co-founded Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home in 1963.
He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy L. Hackelton (Richard) of Green Cove Springs and Kay Sellers of Jacksonville and three grandchildren, Karissa Hackelton Gottlieb (Matt), Lance Hackelton and Matthew Sellers.
The family will greet visitors at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home at 1426 Rowe Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Ray Turner officiating.
