He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Mary “Birdice”; children: Ginger Fields Frick (Ted), William G. Fields, Jr., (Amy), Allison Fields, and Ashton Fields; grandchildren: Callie Moss, Jake Moss, Donovan Fields, Kylie Hood, Jordan Hood, and Westin Stevens; brothers: Randy Fields and Danny Fields (Daphne); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother: Larry; and parents: Hiram and Etah Fields.
William “Bill” Fields was born on September 30, 1948 in Bennettsville, SC, to Hiram and Etah (Gasque) Fields. He entered the military in 1968, serving in the Air Force. He later went on to receive his Bachelor of Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of South Carolina in 1975, and he worked in the IT field for 25 years. On May 14,1983, he married Mary (Murphy) Fields. He had a passion for “playing shoot pool,” NASCAR, and growing his plants. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as well as having the occasional political debate with anyone who would entertain it. He was known for his love of El Caminos, funny antics, and his green thumb.
