

William (Bill) Heller was born on June 20, 1936 to parents, Charles Heller and Freida (Satler) Heller, in Jacksonville, Florida. He had two sisters, Barbara and Maxine. In 1954, he graduated from Andrew Jackson High School then spent 41 years working for the US Postal Service. Bill had four children: Chris, Richard, Glen and Jackie. He was married to Mary Lorraine DeLoach for 47 years and was a life partner to Sue Ann Blumenthal for 12 years.
Bill was a kind and loving husband, father, partner, brother and friend to many. One of his greatest joys was being “Poppy” to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved God, the Florida Gators and Jacksonville Jaguars, family card games, bowling, relaxing at the dog track, riding his bicycle, hot pumpkin pies from Publix, desserts baked by his daughter (on occasion) and vacationing at Daytona Beach.
Bill passed away on October 14, 2024 after a long illness in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Freida Heller, his wife, Mary Lorraine DeLoach, and his son, John Glen Heller. He is survived by his loving life partner, Sue Ann Blumenthal, sisters, Barbara (Mel) Rosenberg, Maxine (Herbert) Richmond, sons, Chris (Ofelia) Heller, Richard (Pam) Heller, daughter, Jackie (Dan) Miller, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many longtime friends. A memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
