William Robert O'Connell

William Robert O’Connell, 64, passed away February 19, 2014. He was born in Manhasset, NY, son of the late William Thomas and Lucille (Moore) O’Connell. He graduated from Sarasota High school, and received a bachelor’s degree from the George Peabody College for Teachers.

He taught in Florida, Kentucky and North Carolina before turning to retail. He also served as custodian for First Baptist Church in Statesville, NC. An avid volunteer, he spent numerous hours at All Souls running the food pantry and attending to other duties. He was also deeply committed to Kairos prison ministries.

Bill was preceded in death by a step-father, Jim Wilson.

Surviving are his loving brother, Larry O’Connell and many dear friends, especially at his church.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on Friday, February 28 at 11:00 at All Souls Anglican Church, 4042 Hartley Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
