

Willis Holton passed away Sunday, November 13,2022 at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida; he was 92. Willis was born in Macclenny, Florida in 1930. He was the son of Francis Thomas Holton and Effie Mae Capps. He was a lifetime resident of Jacksonville moving here as an infant. Willis proudly served in the United States Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He met his wife, the love of his life, Jacqueline Herrington in 1950 and they were married for 71 years. He worked as Vice-President and General Manager for Cooper Distributors, and dedicated over 40 years of employment with their company. Willis loved to play golf, fish, water ski and take road trips. He had a passion for spending time in his yard, tending to his citrus trees and talking to his many neighbors. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The driving force of his life was the love for his wife and children.
Willis was preceded in death by his father Francis Thomas; mother, Effie Mae; two brothers, Hughey and Dewey; one sister, Mary Lee; and one granddaughter, Melanie. He is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline; his son, Steve; his daughter, Nancy (Steve) Buechele; three grandchildren Stephanie (Jeremy) Gubbini, Michele (Rick) Brown, Kyle (Rebbeca) Holton; and three great grandchildren Ricky Brown, Mila Gubbini and Lena Holton.
A visitation for Willis will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
