Ben Gordon Lanier

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Zonnie Lanier, brothers Hugh Lanier, Bernard Lanier, Richard Lanier, and his sisters Ruth Lanier Parker, Velma Lanier, and Sallie L. Daw.

He is survived by his former wife Jonquil and sons Rusty Lanier of Jacksonville and Stuart Lanier of Chattanooga, TN, brothers J.C. Lanier of Jacksonville and German Lanier of Ft. Pierce, FL, his extended family Joyce "sweet thang," Futrell, Vivian Parker (Durwood), Judy Whaley (Rodney), Glenn Futrell (Mary) and Jerry Futrell (Bessie) all of Richlands, grandchildren Summer Lanier of Maryland and Ashley Parker, Tonia Watkins, Kimberly Pierce, Marcia Worthy, and Kevin Futrell all of Richlands, 5 great grandchildren, and other special friends and family. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Continuum Hospice, Brynn Harris, and Jennifer Brock.

Visitation for Ben will be on Sunday evening from 6 - 9 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville. The funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 1 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville with Lt. Charles Noles and Pastor Justin Howard officiating. Burial will take place after the service at the Coastal Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Continuum Hospice (3391 Henderson Dr, Jacksonville, NC 28546). Family will accept visits at the home of Joyce Futrell.
