Kyle Poteat

Kyle Sebastain Hicks Poteat, 27, of both Jacksonville, NC and Ocala, Florida left us far too soon after a short yet beautiful life on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

Kyle was born on December 2, 1992 in Ocala, FL. The oldest of four children, Kyle was always the quiet one. Anyone that truly knew Kyle knew he didn't talk just to talk, but when he did he had knowledge about various subjects and he shared what he knew with the wisdom of someone much older. As a child he loved to play with legos and blocks, roam outside with the friends he made as a military brat, and help the family with his younger siblings. As an adult Kyle took some trying paths in this life but he had finally found his passion at his job climbing trees with a tree service; he described the thrill of learning what he needed to know to skillfully climb and trim trees with a passion that made his family very proud of the man he had become.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather John Wallace.

Kyle is survived by his loving parents, Katina and Jason Poteat; siblings, Wyatt, Vivian, and Adeline Poteat; grandparents, John and Kathy Peek, Brenda Kay and Randy Heil, and Norma Wallace; Aunt Shannon Arnold and his cousins Mark and Stephanie Arnold and his Uncle and Aunt Jeremy and Leeanne Wallace and his cousins Hunter, Taylor, Clayton, Dawson and Paige Wallace; as well as lots of devoted friends.

A private family Celebration of Kyle's life will be held at the home on Saturday August 22, 2020 at 2 pm.

Kyle was so handsome and you can see in his beautiful eyes what a gentle soul he was. Knowing how you are, I am confident that he knew in his heart what a wonderful, kind, loving and supportive mother you were and, because of this, he missed you terribly and returned to be with you. May God keep you and your family close in Kyle’s memory knowing that he is with all of you guiding and watching over you! Kyle is at peace with God and the angels! Much love, Aunt Lynne. ❤️❤️🙏🙏

I remember the night you were born. I stood with your grandmother Kathy, waiting until we could see you. You gave us a little scare and we were so happy when you finally arrived. Over the years, Kathy has proudly kept me informed of your comings and goings your struggles and your accomplishments and I too was so proud to have known you.

I remember the little boy with the bright eyes and beautiful smile from when I would drop Addie off to visit. He was quiet even then. Love and prayers for you all.
