

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Civil Service , Camp Lejeune as a senior machinist.
He is survived by daughters: Wendy Miraya of Jacksonville, Pamela Kage of Woodbridge, VA; son: Lee Swinson of Deerfield, FL; sisters: Nellie Batson of Sneads Ferry, Lillie Coleman of Jacksonville, Sybil Marshburn of Maple Hill, Sarah Flynn of Jacksonville, and Susan Davis of Kentucky; brothers: Edward Swinson, Jr. of Tennessee, Kenneth Swinson of Maple Hill; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Reverend Chris Jarman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service and a reception will follow the service.
Inurnment will follow at 2:00PM at Coastal Carolina State Veteran Cemetery with military honors.
