Mrs. Betty Joyce Bevill

Betty Joyce “B.J.” Gilliland Bevill, 86, of Jasper, passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, in Pell City. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Bro. David Byrd will officiate. Bevill was a member of Northside Baptist Church and a certified lab technician at Walker Baptist Medical Center. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife and a friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James K. Bevill and Rev. Charles W. Powell; daughter, Carolyn Bevill Sargent; sisters, Vernie Hunt, Grace Reed and Mildred Argo; and brothers, Bill Gilliland, Tom Gilliland, James Gilliland, and Carroll Gilliland. She is survived by her daughters, Shawn Bevill Story (Paul), and Nancy Bevill Mathews (Bill); son, James Kerry Bevill (Julia); son-in-law, Darrell Sargent; grandchildren, Stephanie Garner (Ches), Lauren Evans (Bradley), James Runyans (Jessica), Stevi Price (Brandon), Lindsey Rhodes (Chris), and Richard Sargent; great-grandchildren, Michael Brandon Price Jr., and Kennedy Grace Price; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Mathews Money (Josh), Michael Mathews (Jenny), and Paula Story Elsom (Dan); and a host of beloved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northside Baptist Church.
