

Betty Marlene Hyde, 91, of Oakman, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at her residence. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. Mark Howell and Levi Sides will officiate.
Betty Marlene Hyde was born in Phil Campbell, AL on July 24, 1931. She met the love of her life, Lem Hyde from Bear Creek, AL and married over a year later and wound up in Auburn. She became an Auburn fan and he became a teacher. She moved to Oakman in 1952 and raised a husband and 4 blessed children. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. Anyone that came to her kitchen could expect to be fed even if they liked Bama. She was always an active member of the church and community. She was proud of her children and especially her grandchildren. She was proud to be a Christian and strongly believed that your lifestyle should indicate your love for the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William Lemuel Hyde; parents, Royce and Shellie Wamsley; brother, Kenneth Wamsley; and sister, Fayrene Wamsley Alongi.
She is survived by her children, Bill Hyde, Aquilla Hyde Beck, Cecelia Hyde Utley, and Regenia Hyde Stockton; grandchildren, Shellie Hyde-Classen, Jason Hyde, Zachary Beck, Makali Beck, Roxanne Beck-Flynn, Nicholas Utley, Leslie Kaas, and Jamie Stockton.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Beck, Makali Beck, Jason Hyde, Nicholas Utley, Landon Flynn, and Mathew Kaas.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Midway Church of Christ or William L. Hyde FFA Scholarship Fund.
