

Hattie Evelyn Keel Posner (July 22, 1920 - May 11, 2015) Evelyn Keel Posner, 94, a long-time resident of Trussville and recently Jasper, went home to be with her Lord Monday, May 11, 2015, in Slidell, Louisiana. Visitation will be held at Rideout’s Trussville Chapel Saturday, May 16, 2015, from noon until 1 p.m. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Scott Pierce will officiate. Evelyn was a member of 76th Street Presbyterian Church/East minster Presbyterian Church where she served as Sunday school teacher many years. She was a talented homemaker with the ability to sew clothing, draperies, slip covers, draw, paint, and cook. Her generous nature, kind and loving spirit were the hallmarks of her gentle life. She was a gracious hostess, welcoming everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Clay Keel and Hattie Dove Bailey; brothers, James Clayton Keel and John Keel; and sister, Susan Keel Rushing. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 74 years, Richard Solomon Posner; brother, Nathan Keel (Flora); children, Karen Posner Nations (Joe) and Nan Posner Bishop (Raymond); four grandchildren, Ellen Nations Luparello (Michael), Tyler Nations, Brian Lee Bishop (April) and Rachel Bishop Ross (Lance); and four great-grandchildren, Blane Luparello (Caitlyn), Logan Bishop, John Solomon Ross and London Bishop. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. The Presbyterian Children’s Home was dear to her heart. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Presbyterian Children’s Home, P. O. Box 577, Talladega, AL 35160.
