Hubert Arben Drummond

Hubert Arben Drummond went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 3, 2017. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 5 until 6 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 6 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Pisgah Cemetery. Wayne Williams will officiate. Mr. Drummond was born on July 20, 1922 in Sipsey, Alabama. He met his wife, Phyllis Joan Golding Drummond, during World War II while he was stationed in England. They were married on October 1, 1945. They were married 71 years before she went to be with Jesus this past October. He served his country for twenty-six and a half years in the United States Air Force before retiring. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Avery and Cora Lavinia Drummond; his siblings, Milton Drummond, Lecil Drummond, Homer Drummond, Martha McClendon and Dorothy Jean Simpson; and his children, Joan Drummond (infant), Cheryl Boshell and Michael Drummond. He is survived by his sons, Ricky Drummond (Cyndi) and Stephen Drummond; his grandchildren, Lisa Allen (Barry), Niccole McDaniel (Don), Shannon Drummond (Haley) and Brandon Drummond; and his great-granddaughters, Brittany Cagle, Bailey McDaniel and Kalynn McDaniel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pisgah Baptist Church children’s ministry.
