Mr. M. Dale Pace, 67, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at Walker Memory Gardens. Joel Daniel will officiate.
In 1980 Dale received a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in Physical Chemistry. His Ph.D. work earned him a place at the Naval research lab in Washington D.C. where he worked for many years.
For the remainder of his career, he taught at Bevill State Community College at the Fayette and Hamilton Alabama campuses.
After retiring, Dale became an amateur astronomer taking and sharing photographs of our galaxy and beyond.
Dale deeply loved his family, friends, and trips to the beach. He was an encourager, as kind as he was brilliant. He inspired those around him by the way he fought the disease that took his life, never losing his quick wit.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Jean Pace; grandparents, Carrie and L.R. Richardson, and Nellie and John C. Pace.
He is survived by his father, Wendell M. Pace; sister, Kathryn Martinie(Gary); nephews, Daniel Martinine(Ashley), and Michael Martinie(Chelsea); great-niece, Millie Martinie; and great-nephew, Bennett Martinie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The ALS Association.
