Mrs. Margie Cleo Brock Franks

Margie Cleo Brock Franks, 96, of Jasper, passed away on March 16, 2015. She was a graduate of Lamar County High School and graduated in 1941 from Livingston State Teachers College. She taught in the public schools in Alabama for 28 years, teaching first grade for the last 22 years of her career at Farmstead School in Jasper. She and her husband were both members of the First United Methodist Church of Jasper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edward Robert Franks, her parents, Dora Emma and William Lee Brock of Lamar County, 7 brothers and 2 sisters, and a granddaughter, Charlotta Kay Franks. She is survived by her son, William Edward (Martha) Franks of Mobile, her daughter, Janice Franks of Montgomery, her grandson, Charles William (Lori) Franks of Middlebourne, West Virginia, two great-grandchildren, Kellen and Aislinn Franks, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2015, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Interment will follow at Walker Memory Gardens, next to her husband. Rev. Tex Ergle and Rev. Alan Beasley will officiate.
