

Family will receive friends Friday, February 28, 2025, from noon until 12:40 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Graveside Service swill follow at 1 p.m., with burial at Walker Memory Gardens.
She was born June 7, 1941, in Moorehouse, Missouri, the daughter of Quitman and Inez (Wilson) Bishop. She married Bill Martin August 28, 1959, in Carbondale, Illinois. She retired as a front desk receptionist at YMCA in Effingham, Illinois, and as a homemaker. She enjoyed the 4th of July celebration on the mountain in Tennessee and especially spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of more than 65 years, Bill Martin of Neoga, Illinois; children, Angela (Rick) Hardesty of Windsor, Illinois, Mark (Carrie) Martin of Crossville, Tennessee, and James Martin (Carmel) of Haleyville, Alabama; brothers, Charles Bishop (Cynthia), of Jasper and Jerry Bishop (Harriet) of Jasper; grandchildren, Julie Cody, Brandon Cagle, Lisa Martin, Damon Moore, Sonja Hill, Jessica Hinton, Brianne Johnson and Nathan Thompson; great-grandchildren, Taylor Cody, Macie Fox, Landon Fox, Blake Shaw, Jack Cody, Jaray Reeves, Michaela Peters, Kinley Moore, Korbyn Hinton, Saban Thompson, Zay Reeves, Nadia Johnson, Trinity Johnson, Adalynn Johnson and baby boy Hill on the way; great-great-grandchild, Kiffin Heffner; son-in-law, Chipper Cody of Windsor; daughter-in-law, Tina Martin of Iola, Kansas; sister-in-law, Shirley Bishop of Jasper and Dianne Hall-Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Quitman and Inez Bishop; children, Charlotte Cody and Christopher Martin; brothers, Morris Wayne Bishop, Mike Bishop, Donnie Bishop and Billy Bishop; sister, Ann Almaroad; and grandchildren, Tyler Hardesty, Joseph Garrett and, Makenzie Johnson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
