Louise was born to Edward Paul and Ann Osborne on January 16, 1944 at the Jasper AL Hospital. She attended Bankhead Farmstead School, Memorial Park School and Walker County High School and graduated in 1962. She went on to Walker Jr. College graduating in 1964. She went on to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa to pursue a BS degree in Psychology. After graduating from Alabama, she worked at Birmingham Trust National Bank in Personnel and Data Processing until meeting Arthur Harold Zimmer on October 30, 1969.
Louise was married to Arthur H. Zimmer on May 16, 1970 in the First Methodist Church in Jasper, AL. They lived in Crestwood, MO, which is a suburb of Saint Louis, Missouri from 1970 until 1982. During that time the couple in 1972 had a son, Paul Arthur Zimmer and in 1974 a daughter, Marianne Zimmer.
Louise loved sports. She started playing tennis in the late 70s. After moving to Atlanta, she continued to play for a total of 19 years and finished her tennis career at Musgrove Country Club in 2001. She was an avid volunteer during her entire marriage at churches, Gwinnett County hospital, a recovery cafe in Atlanta, tennis ALTA and the Gwinnett County Soccer Association.. After moving back to Jasper, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels, a member of the Dogwood Garden Club and Walker County Master Gardeners. She loved her First Methodist Church and held many offices during her 26 years in attendance upon returning to her hometown.
She so loved living in her childhood home in Jasper. She inherited her Dad's love of gardening. And could be seen cutting grass, planting, digging and weeding all during the warm months. Louise's family was everything to her. Not to mention her strong bond with the countless friends she has made over the years. Louise was a cat lover and frequently measured time by which cat was alive. Her kindness, love, support, Love of her Lord and adventurous spirit will live in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Zimmer; and parents, Ed and Ann Osborne.
She is survived by her children, Paul A. Zimmer and Marianne Zimmer Davis (Glenn); grandchildren, Reese Davis, Taylor Davis, John Zimmer and Kathryn Zimmer; brother, Edward Paul Osborne (Liz) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mary Louise was so blessed to have had all of her friends and family in her life.
