Sue Clark Tubbs

Sue Clark Tubbs, 90, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at her residence. Family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 10 until 11 a.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 11 a.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Bennett Cemetery. Bro. Patrick Benson will officiate. Sue was born in Jasper, in 1932. She was the fifth child of eight children. She married the love of her life at the age of 18, to Bill Tubbs. After four children were born, they moved to California. She had two years of college, then they moved back to Jasper and added two more children to make their family complete with six children. Sue then completed her Bachelor’s degree in education and began working as a teacher at Curry High School. She taught math there until 1994, when she retired. She enjoyed her retirement years with her husband by her side doing genealogy and Ancestral Homestead books for Alabama, including Walker County. The joys of her life were her 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Billy Glenn “Bill” Tubbs; son, Clark Alexander Tubbs; parents, Edgar Andrew Clark and Velma Izene Meadows Clark; sisters, Martha Clark Dodd Niblack and Pearl Catherine Clark Williams; grandparents, Judge Marion Meadows and Mattie Earnest Meadows; in-laws, James Samuel Tubbs and Minnie Lee Alexander Tubbs Bandeen. She is survived by her loving children, Ronald Howard Tubbs (Jan); Deborah Sue Tubbs England (Carl), Glenn Alan Tubbs, James Samuel Tubbs (Dianne) and DeAnna Lee Tubbs Zacarias (Miguel); grandchildren, Kelly Tubbs Burton (Fin), Brad Tubbs, Rod England (Gina), Suzan England, Steven Tubbs (Jennifer), Jessica Tubbs, Michelle Tubbs, Elizabeth Tubbs, John Tubbs, Daniel Tubbs and Elena Zacarias; great grandchildren, Lorenzo England, Ally Tubbs, Wheeler Burton, Lincoln Burton and Abby Burton; siblings, Hal Clark (Iris), Earnest Clark (Mary), Peggy Estes (J.W.), Jerry Clark (Agnes) and Ted Clark (Elsie) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
