Tony was born in Jasper, Ala., March 12, 1955. He graduated from Walker High School in 1973. While attending, he met his high school sweetheart, the love of his life and wife of 42 years, Lauretta Kitchens Price. He loved playing basketball at Walker High and continued his outstanding playing career at Walker College where he graduated in 1975.
After graduation, he began working with his partner and father, Hop Price in the automobile business. For the rest of his life, he was dedicated to serving this community and his family through his hard work in his business and every aspect of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing with his close friends and spending quality time with his family. He was often found at piano recitals, mock trial tournaments, cross country meets, Air Force ceremonies, and traveled many miles to be with and help his family at any time. His love and dedication to work and family was only superseded by his devotion and love to the Savior, Jesus Christ. Even while battling cancer, it was important to him to faithfully attend church and praise the Lord he knew so well. This amazing husband, father, granddaddy, son, brother and friend will be sorely missed and remembered fondly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Hop Price; grandparents, Willie and Ruth Vines, Claude and Effie Price; and in-laws, Charles and Hazel Kitchens.
He is survived by his wife, Lauretta K. Price; children, Laurel Price Jacobs (Greg), Brett Price (Morgan), Brian Price (Maggie); grandchildren, Hannah, Hazel, and Eliza Jacobs, Willow, Wendy, and Walker Price, and Gilbert and Calvin Price; mother, Flora Price; and siblings, Rita Pilling (Mike) and Phoebe Price along with a host of friends, in-laws, nieces, nephews and business friends.
Tony has been dedicated to and served the people of Walker County his whole life and in lieu of flowers, if you would like, you may donate to the Walker Area Community Foundation PO Box 171 Jasper AL 35502.
