Barbara Pavlin Konosky, known as Betty to family and friends, passed away on Monday, December 3 at the age of 87. She left this earth peacefully surrounded by family, at the Donnell House in Washington, PA.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Barbara Pavlin, her husband John J. Konosky, Sr., and her sisters and brothers, Annie Loncher, Helen Baniecki, Mary Margetich, Katie Sustrik, John Pavlin, and Joe Pavlin.
Betty was born on October 26, 1931 in Mather, PA, spending the majority of her life living in the same home in which she was born and raised.
More than anything, Betty loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling across the United States with her husband and sisters. She and her husband were regular figures at nearly every event her grandchildren participated in. While Betty would tell you she was not much of a cook, family and friends will boast about her many delicious dishes, especially her traditional holiday feasts. Not one to stay cooped up at home, later in life she enjoyed her outings to the Meadows, often with her best friend and sister-in-law, Annette Thistlethwaite. Unlike many her age, she openly embraced new technology, and especially enjoyed keeping in touch with family on Facebook. She had an amazing sense of humor, a huge heart, will be most remembered for the joy she brought to others.
She is survived by her three children, John J. Konosky, Jr., Michael A. (Debra) Konosky, Sr. , and Cathy Konosky; four grandchildren, Christine Konosky, Carolyn Konosky, Michael A. (Christie) Konosky Jr., and Jennifer Konosky; and eight great-grandchildren, Bailee Konosky, Layla, Emma, Liam and Gabriel Konosky, Brennan & Ava Matiyasic, and Aubree Allen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marcellus R.C. Church, Jefferson, PA. Inurnment in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, PA.
