He was born November 17, 1924 in Marianna, a son of the late George and Ruth Bigler Beglin.
Ernie was a salesman for many years for Southwestern Petroleum Corp., in the industrial lubricants industry.
He served in the United States Army in the European theater during WW II.
Ernie was an expert horseman and fox hunter, and was a horse show ringmaster for many years throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and New York. He was also a horse racing fan, and he and his daughter attended the Preakness Horse Race in Baltimore for 29 years in a row.
Surviving are a daughter, Lucinda Kerns of Centreville, VA; a son, Randall (Barbara) Kerns of Summerville, SC; three grandchildren, Kaitlin Geer, Hannah and Alexandra Kerns; two great grandchildren, Mae and Elliott Geer; a sister, Lois Davis, of Clarksville, with whom he had made his home; a brother, Wray (Ruth) Beglin of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. His family always enjoyed his company and his positive attitude, and they loved him very much.
Deceased is his wife, Jean Gorby Beglin; and a brother, Blair T. Beglin.
Private services have been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Interment in West Alexander Cemetery, West Alexander. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Alexander Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 303., West Alexander, PA 15376.
