He was born May 21, 1931 in Carmichaels, a son of the late Quentin and Mable Robey English.
Bob was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson High School, a 1955 graduate of Waynesburg College and earned his Master’s degree from West Virginia University.
He was a retired school teacher and principle in the Jefferson Morgan School District.
Bob was a member of the Hewitt Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and had served as treasurer for many years, a former elder and active choir member.
He was a member of the National Education Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the Greene County Association of School Retirees and a former member of the board of directors of Cal Ed Federal Credit Union.
Bob was an avid and knowledgeable sports fan and especially like the Pittsburgh Pirates.
On March 31, 1956 he married Mona A. Dooley, who survives.
Also surviving is a brother, William H. (Mary Lou) English of Allison Park; a niece, Karen (Joerg) Kohler; nephews, William J. (Cheryl) English and Dr. Robert F. (Trudy) English; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor; additional visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 10 am to 11:00 am in the Hewitt Presbyterian Church, 1206 Crucible Rd., Rices Landing, PA 15357; the hour of funeral services with the Rev. Dr. William Parker, officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Robert English Scholarship Fund at Hewitt Presbyterian Church.
