He was born October 29, 1941 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Clarence A. “Jim” and Mildred Watson Taylor.
Gary was a 1959 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He served 12 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from the PA Department of Corrections.
Gary was a member of the American Legion Post #954, Jefferson, was a sky diver and had a private pilot’s license. He and Sue loved traveling and new adventures.
On July 24, 1965 he married Susan Seese, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Jeffrey (Michele) Taylor of Mather, Gregory (Mary Beth) Taylor of Lodi, OH, Brian (Winona) Taylor of Mesa, AZ, and Christopher (Jennifer) Taylor of Mather; eight grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Renee, Laura, Jacob, Gabriella, Serenity, and Sydney; a sister, Vicki Taylor Antill.
Deceased is a granddaughter, Jessica; two brothers, Mark Taylor and Gene Taylor.
In following the guidelines of wearing masks friends will be received from 3 to 6 pm, Sunday, November 7, 2021 in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor. Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company or the American Legion Post #954, Jefferson.
