Ruth Ann Zappone Piel

She was born on August 21, 1944 in Crucible, a daughter of the late Charles and Laura Reagan Zappone.

She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Piel, whom she married August 17, 1974; two daughters, Candace (Daniel) Rohland of Waynesburg, and Chelsea of Crucible; two grandchildren, Mikyah Patrick and Aaron “AJ” Neely; two sisters, Theresa Walters of Carmichaels, and Beverly Febus of DeSoto, Missouri; a brother, Dennis (Linda) Zappone of Carmichaels; three brother-in-laws, Harry Dugan of Streetsboro, OH, Fred “Skip” Clark of Carmichaels, and Ronald Piel of Millersport, OH; a sister-in-law, Nancy (John) Charnovich of Finleyville; numerous foster children, and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents are a brother, Charles Zappone; two sisters, Dorothy Dugan and Mary Clark.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, with the Rev. P. Keith Larson officiating.
