

Barbara was born in Queens, New York on May 12, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Marion V. McQuade. Barbara graduated from Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Ozone Park, New York, St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, Brooklyn, New York and Central Connecticut State University.
Barbara raised her family in Berlin, CT and was a nurse at New Britain General Hospital where she worked for 20 years. In 1980 Barbara moved to Florida and continued her nursing career working with various insurance companies until her retirement.
Throughout the years Barbara enjoyed many crafts and hobbies. She loved writing and documented her life in countless scrapbooks. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and working on jigsaw puzzles. Barbara had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good practical joke.
Most of all, Barbara adored her family. Barbara is survived by her children, Kevin Hopkins of San Francisco, CA, Karen Pellegrino (Bernie) of New Haven, CT, Kenneth Hopkins (Claire) of La Quinta, CA, Kristine Cassino (Scott) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and stepchildren, Paula Whetton (Wayne), Antony (Annette) & Trevor Inwood and their families, all of Great Britain. She was the loving Grandma to Brett Pellegrino, Daphne Pellegrino (Kaela), Clara Pellegrino (Matthew) and Nicholas Cassino; a beloved sister to Marjorie Brennan of Charlottesville, VA and Eileen Carver of Massapequa, NY; and aunt to several nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Martyn Inwood.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2302 Northeast Seaview Drive, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.
