Donald Wayne Rasmussen

Don was born in Oak Park, Illinois and raised by his late parents Anton and Audrey Rasmussen. He enjoyed sports and earned a basketball scholarship while attending Grant high school in Fox Lake, Il. He also attended the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater before returning to Fox Lake where he and his parents built and operated the Golden “R” Restaurant. He was also a Volunteer Fireman and Captain of the rescue squad in Fox Lake while an Illinois paramedic charter member. He enjoyed public service and was a Grant Township Trustee for many years. He was employed by Utilities, Inc for more than 30 years becoming Vice President of Utilities Inc. of Florida. He loved traveling with his family and spent much of his leisure time camping and enjoying family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife, Jackie Rasmussen, whom he married in 1963; sons, Don Rasmussen (Efrain Silva), of Daytona Beach, Florida and Kenneth Rasmussen (Angie), of Cumming, Georgia; daughter, Ginny Atwood (Keith), of Commerce City, Colorado; grandchildren, Taylor Atwood, Alexander Atwood, Austin Atwood, Kaleb Rasmussen, Alyssa Rasmussen, Arden Rasmussen, and Kassidy Rasmussen; brother, Ronald Rasmussen (Patricia), of Janesville, Wisconsin; and his Goldendoodle, Khloe.
