

Frederick P. Stein, 88, died July 12, 2011, at Stuart Nursing & Restorative Care Center. He was born in Bohemia, New York and lived in Jensen Beach for forty years, coming from Sayville, NY.
He and his late wife owned and operated Long Island Boat & Motors Sales, Inc. in Sayville, New York and Casa Rio Boat & Motor Sales, Inc. in Rio/Jensen Beach, Florida for morethan 50 years.
He served in the US Army Air Corps in the Pacific during World War II as a communications officer and continued in the US Air Force reserve for forty years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1983.
Fred was active in the community as a founding member of the Anchor Men volunteers at Martin Memorial Medical Center, a member of the Rotary Club of Stuart-Sunrise and past Commodore of the Anchor Line Yacht Club in Jensen Beach. He served on the board of directors of both Martin Memorial Health Systems and Seacoast National Bank.
Survivors include daughter Elizabeth Zurich of Jensen Beach; son Fred Stein II of Miami and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Garnette Stein and brother Ken Stein.

Services: Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Friday July 15 at Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach. A service will follow at 11:00AM July 15 at the funeral home chapel and burial with full military honors immediately after at All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach.
