Jean was born on July 10, 1927 in the city of Philadelphia, PA where she also attended school and went on to train as a beautician. She worked as a hairdresser on and off for most of her life. Jean met the love of her life, Richard Toppi and they married in 1946.
Along with their growing family, she and Richard moved to Havertown, PA where they raised their 4 daughters Pamela, Yvonne, Anita, and Renee. She often worked beside her husband in his luncheonette business in Havertown. Family was very important to her and despite her busy schedule she always made time to visit her family in Philadelphia bringing the older relatives food and taking them to appointments. She loved attending all of her nieces and nephew’s special occasions. Family and friends both will never forget her favorite Silver Tinsel Christmas tree with the revolving color wheel.
Her ten grandchildren will always remember how their Mimi doted on them by making them food like Dippy eggs, Cup Custard, Ovaltine, Pastina, and lots of other favorites. They remember how she always showed up for visits with a huge Hershey chocolate bar. She also made them try different healthy remedies like Bee Pollen and whatever was the latest health craze. Jean will be remembered by ALL that knew her for her advice on vitamins, supplements, and how to stay healthy. She was blessed to live a long and healthy life.
