John Kent Sheffler

John K. Sheffler (76) born on February 19th, 1948 of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away on July 13th in his home. He is preceded by his parents, John W. and Barbra Sheffler and his brother William Sheffler of Dugger IN. He is survived by his brothers Dan Sheffler (Julie) of Dover, PA., Brian Sheffler (Lorraine) of Bainbridge, IN., his sister, Jane Witt (Jeffery) of Huntington IN., his sons John M. Sheffler of Milford, CT., James Sheffler (Christina) of Ansonia, CT., and Michael Sheffler (Becca) and their son Eli of Milford, CT. and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

John grew up in Dugger IN. and joined the U.S. Navy after high school and finished his military career as a Sergeant 1st. Class in the U.S. Army Reserves. He enjoyed carpentry, golfing, and playing guitar and singing with his band Leather & Lace. He was very fond of spending time with friends, and one could often find him at the American Legion Post 318 or at home working on music for his next gig.

Honoring his request, there will not be a formal service. He preferred that everyone smile while remembering the time that they spent with him.
