Linda Bourgea

Linda was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Gertrude and Francis Berard on January 1, 1944. She was raised in Stratford where she graduated from high school in 1963. She went on to live and raise her family in Milford where she eventually met her second husband, Richard (Dick) Bourgea.

During their 45 years together, Linda and Dick spent a lot of their time boating and fishing on Long Island Sound. In 1992 they continued their favorite hobby in Port St Lucie, Florida where they decided to spend their golden years. Eventually moving to Jensen Beach, their hobbies went from boating to walking their late beloved dog, Trixie, and to spending time with friends.

Linda had many friends that she enjoyed playing cards with, having adventures at the arcades or casinos, or just being together where she would entertain everyone with her quick and infectious sense of humor. An avid read, Linda was known to read so many books a week, oftentimes one a day.

While in Milford, Linda worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at Jonathon Law High School for many years before moving to Florida. Once she settled down south, she worked at UF/IFAS Extension (AG Center). In 2001 she changed course and went into real estate where

she enjoyed a very successful career at Real Estate on Hutchinson Island and then Real Estate of Florida eventually retiring in 2009.

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her beloved son Michael, her much adored stepfather, Vincent Gourley, her sister Cecelia (Sandy) and her brother Donald.

She is survived by her husband Dick; son Richard (Kimberly); stepchildren Richard (Christy) Bourgea, James (Kim) Bourgea, Rebecca (Chris) Borey; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Linda is also survived by Tammy Jones, her late son Michael’s special life companion. Tammy is a very special member of the family along with husband Dick and son Rich was with Linda as she passed.

Services for Linda will be held on Saturday, March 26, 4-6 pm (prayer service at 5) at Aycock Funeral Home, 950 NE Jensen Beach Blvd, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.
