Mildred Evan Chambers

Milli was born on April 13, 1937, the daughter of Gilbert and Glada (Hirst) Jenkins. She spent most of her life in the Wenona and Minonk area, later moving to Florida in 1982.

In 2010, Milli married Vern Chambers, who preceded her in death in 2023.

Milli was the devoted mother of three children: Robbie Rients (Mary), Greg Rients (Ann), and Suzi Rients (deceased).

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Milli is survived by her two grandsons, Dirk Rients (Rebecca) and Seth Rients (Raven); two great-grandsons; and four step–great-grandchildren.

Milli loved spending time with friends and cherished family gatherings. She was active in her community and was a member of Monterey Yacht & Country Club, where she enjoyed golf and bocce, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. She was also a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Milli will be cremated, and her ashes will be buried next to her daughter’s gravesite at Minonk Cemetery in Illinois.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her friendships, and her deep love for family.
