Nancy Jean Snider, 93, of Pentwater MI and Apache Junction AZ, was called home to her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2025. Born on October 3, 1931, in Mason MI, Nancy was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her smile, cheerful personality and positive outlook on life. Nancy’s cheerful attitude could always brighten your day. She loved socializing and made friends easily.
Ray and Nancy started camping in Pentwater with their children in 1959 and continued yearly until 2018. They are one of the few campers that camped in the State Park during the winter. Ray and Nancy made many many happy memories with friends and family in Pentwater over the years. Pentwater was her “happiest place on earth” and will be her final resting place. When Ray retired in 1992, they bought a van and traveled around the United States. During their travels they discovered Superstition Mountains in Arizona. They knew this was going to be their southwest “Pentwater” and so they made this their winter home. During the summers, Nancy was in her element as Campground Host of Mears State Park in Pentwater, Michigan. A position she held for 25 years and will remain forever known as “The Cookie Lady”. If Nancy wasn’t talking about her family she was talking about the mountains or Pentwater.
Nancy was married to Raymond Snider for 54 years. Together they had a beautiful family and they set a good example of a loving happy marriage. They always said with hard work and a positive attitude you can accomplish anything. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond “Bird” Snider and her son James “Willie” Scott Snider; as well as her parents Harry and Geraldine Spenny and brother H.A. Spenny. Nancy is survived by sons David Snider, Steven (Marge) Snider, Randy (Pam) Caltrider, and her daughter Linda (Tom) Harrison. With a house full of boys, Nancy and Linda developed a special mother-daughter bond and were the best of friends. Nancy is survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grand children: Jason (Shannon) Snider, Michelle (Paul) Kitzrow, Nanette (Doug) Coleman, Melanie (Bill) Wojciakowski, Lacey Snider, Linsey Snider, Aubrey Wojciakowski, Isaac Snider, and Briella Coleman.
