

Robert “Bob” Emil Richter, age 97, passed away peacefully from this life into eternal life on March 1, 2025 in Stuart Florida. He was born in New Jersey to parents Martha and Emil Richter in 1927. Bob had a good work ethic in his occupation as a manufacturing engineer but his biggest passions were his quiet love for God, his family, and many projects including working in his garage and model trains. In the pursuit of his many projects he enjoyed helping others and continued his love of learning.
Bob was a resilient survivor of polo, acquired as a child, and developed a compassion toward others. Bob began his career as an engineer by attending Newark College of Engineering and Technical School before being drafted in World II. He served in the army on the continental United States with training in cryptology, radios and radio repair. At discharge he began his training program with Westinghouse working his way up from toolmaker to qualifying as a manufacturing engineer. Bob worked in many facets of manufacturing engineering including working for RCA, Cordis, and Motorola.
Bob is survived and remembered with love by his daughter Karen Smouse, granddaughters Kristin Cooper, Jessica Smouse, granddaughter Jennifer McEnery (husband John), and his three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor Richter and cherished son Donald Richter and daughter-in-law Pam.
Forever loved, he will be missed for his positivity, honesty, gentile humor, and kindness.
A celebration of life will be held at Palm City New Hope Church, April 12 at 10:30 am in the worship center.
