Sherron Lee Whittimore, 81, died May 16, 2026. Born December 28, 1944, Sherron was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, and remained deeply connected to the community throughout her life. Grounded in Christian faith, she carried herself with quiet dignity and was a beloved presence to those who knew her. Her intelligence showed in both the steady way she met life and the thoughtful care she offered others.
Sherron earned a bachelor’s degree and devoted more than 30 years to serving local hospitals as a medical technologist. In a profession that demands precision and clear judgment, she brought a capable mind and a dependable spirit—work that mattered to patients, colleagues, and the community she served.
Sherron especially enjoyed her extended family and the time shared across generations. She also found pleasure in simple, familiar joys: working puzzles, caring for animals—especially cats—and following the Tennessee Titan football team.
Sherron was preceded in death by her parents, A.R. and Doris Whittimore. She is survived by her brother, Alan Whittimore; niece, Amber Grindstaff (Mike); nephew, Justin Adams (Brandi); aunt, Adelene Whittimore; cousins, Maria Gulla, Terry Whittimore, Larry Proffitt, and Gerri Whittimore (late cousin Keith’s wife); special friend, Doreatha Charles; great nephews, Colin and Gavin; and great niece and nephew, Brooklyn and Jace.
