

Charles E. Williams, 88, of Johnstown, passed from his earthly home to his home with Jesus on October 19, 2023. Charlie was widely known as an accountant and financial advisor, as a government official, and as a football and basketball referee, and for his involvement in church and religious affairs. He was born near Utica on December 7, 1934, to the late Roger Williams and Stella (Kreager) Williams. He attended Utica and Homer schools, and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1952. After a stint in the “Sputnik Army”, he was one of the early employees at the Newark Air Force Station. After receiving his degree from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), he opened his accounting firm in Johnstown. Charlie was preceded in death by several younger siblings. He is survived by Norma, his wife of almost 64 years; children, Steve and Lisa (Mark); grandchildren, Briana (Steven), Keegan, Britney (Donny), Cameron (Kim), Lindsey, Mark, and Melaney; five great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene and step-sister, Clara. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 at CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, OH 43031. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Johnstown Independent Baptist Church, 7397 Johnstown-Alexandria Rd., Johnstown, OH 43031 with Pastor Dan Scarberry. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the start of service. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
