James "Dave" David Reeves

James “Dave” David Reeves, 66, of Johnstown, went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2024. He was born on June 22, 1957 in Athens, OH, a son to the late James and Bernice (Ross) Reeves. Dave grew up and lived in the Alexandria – Johnstown area since 1958. He was a 1975 graduate of Northridge High School. Dave married the love of his life, Julie on September 10, 1988. He was a very active member of the Pataskala Church of the Nazarene. Dave was employed by Oasis Manufacturing from 1987 to 2005 and Leibert (Vertiv) from 2005 to 2020. In 2020, he retired from full time work. Dave couldn’t quite stop working completely so he continued to work part time including snow removal at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport. He was a very loving and generous man. Dave would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved spending time with his family and friends as well as helping wherever needed at his church and the local food pantry. His family will greatly miss him giving the blessing at all the family dinners. Dave loved sports especially rooting on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. He had a wealth of sports knowledge to share with fellow sports fans. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Julie; brothers, Charlie (Sandy) Reeves of Alexandria, Allen (Cindi) Reeves of Johnstown; sister, Pam (Scott) Hankinson of Alexandria along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Pataskala Nazarene Church, 8100 Hazelton-Etna Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church with Pastor Gary Reiss officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Alexandria. Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pataskala Nazarene Church in Dave’s memory.
