Jean Gilmore

Jean Gilmore of Croton, Ohio passed away at Country View of Sunbury on February 26, 2023. Jean (Baker) was born in Lewisville, Ohio to Charles and Mary Baker. She graduated from The Ohio State University and was a history and business teacher at Hartford and Alexandria. She later started her own business, Gilmore Bookkeeping Service, and worked as a tax preparer. Jean found lifelong happiness in her family, her friends in the community, and the horses and cattle on her farm outside of Croton, Ohio. From there she enjoyed getting outside for golfing, fishing, skiing, and going to the Hartford Fair.

Jean was preceded in death by daughter Lori and husband Darby. She is survived by daughter Jill (Mike) Tulloss, Grandson Justin (Soumya) Tulloss, Great-Grandson Kai Tulloss, Granddaughter Lindsay (Chris) Cisar, brother John Baker, niece Ronda Marshall and nephew Steve Baker.

Calling hours will be 10:00am-12:00pm Wednesday March 1 preceding the funeral at 12:00 noon. Services will take place at Crouse-Kauber-Fraley Funeral home in Johnstown, Ohio with Pastor Linda Wallack officiating. Burial will be at Hartford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Croton United Methodist Church, 75 N. High St., Croton, OH 43013 or the Hartford Library, 11 S. Park Place, Croton, OH 43013.
